The Day Job

Jars11.05.09

I am trying to look on the bright side of the fact that only my mother had some advice for me on the last post. I guess it just means that it is hard and other work from home moms are trying to figure it out too, so if I come up with something brilliant I'll be sure to let you know. One brilliant thing that I did do yesterday was have my mom  help me! Yeah for grandma time. I woke up with a pretty serious blocked milk duct (no fun), so my mom came to get Tutu so I could rest and work it out. Then she came and took her for a little while in the afternoon so I could get some Ribbon Jar business taken care of. Everything came together in the evening and the plugged duct was gone, and I got out a newsletter! Though my business has been trucking right along this is the first time in over a year I've put out a newsletter. I have new email marketing software though so I think it's going to be much easier. I'm excited to be able to put more projects up on the ideas page, and to have more sales and specials. I just added a bunch of stuff to the sale page, and all in stock ric-rac is 20% (through Monday). And if you didn't get a newsletter and you would like to in the future it's easy to sign up on my home page

  1. For the record I think you are brilliant. I have one child, who is easy as pie to deal with, and I have nothing else. I mean, I don’t work from home. I am barely able to keep up with the laundry and the dishes. And I’ve been at it for going on 4 years now…let alone regular housework. As far as I am concerned, ALL you do, from the remodel of your house, to all your trips and daily outtings with that little darling of yours, eating healthy and feeding your babe healthy NOT TO MENTION running a biz from your house is the work of nothing less than a Goddess. Please don’t be too hard on yourself sweetie. you are light years ahead of some of us in figuring this SAHM/WAHM thing out. No one has it all figured out…what would the fun be in that? Keep your chin up!

  2. clogged milk ducts = yuck. I am glad you took care of it. I have had to pop them with a pin before. Felt like the lion with the thorn in his paw…..what relief. Hang in there. You seem to have supportive people in your life who will help when needed. Carry on.
