On Friday I did my first non-family photo shoot (counting V as family of course). I was excited and a bit nervous as I hadn’t been to the house in years (they are a family friend) and I was curious if I could just go into a house I wasn’t familiar with and a baby I didn’t really know and get some good images with out scouting out the location. I was hoping to walk away with 25 images or so to put on a disc for B’s parent’s. I just finished going through and editing and I have 50 images that I love (a couple are multiples in black and white). Here are some of my favorites:
I think the whole outfit was from Target, at least I know the tights were, I asked because I thought they were so cute!
I just carried her around and plopped her here and there, so fun.
That’s without processing on those eyes, they are to die for no? Swoon I love them.
Here mom wanted some of her eating fishies, and I’m so glad because she made the funniest faces.
I created my own action in photoshop to make the watermark but I don’t know why it stretched itself out in horizontal photos. Boo, I’ll have to figure that out.
Mini fishies! And Violet also has this high chair. I’m not sure where it’s from but it is ten times better than those new plastic monstrosities they make now with like pastel fabric (barf). Although if you do have one, check out what Heather Bailey did to hers here. Now that’s an upgrade.
She can stand only with help, cute wobbly baby legs.
So honestly what do you think? I didn’t charge them, they hired me to do her birthday party in a couple of months so I wanted to get some experience in before I took money from anyone. I don’t really know where I’m going photography wise, I love it and it’s always been a great hobby for me. As part of my studio art major I took traditional (black and white film) photography classes and found that to be a great creative outlet. Um, and the playing with cute little kids thing? That is a definite plus!
I think they are great! I just recently booked a professional photographer for my boss and her baby at a studio in NYC- honestly your results look way better to me! Nice work.
Honestly, I think these look so great, really professional. I think this might be your calling…
they look great, love the color and natural look of them! 😉
Let me refer an alternative to “great” how about “genuine.” What is so fabulously wonderful about your images is the approach—to shoot in their home. This is why I’ve always hated the “JCPenny photoshoot” such a sterile environment. Who can argue you’re onto something great! Keep em coming!
Very professional! Wonderful pictures the parents must love them!
Yup, you have outdone yourself once again!! They are sooo good! When the time comes, you are soooo taking pics of my baby 😉
