Hospice

Bj and I moved grandpa back to his home yesterday for hospice care. He only has a short time left to be with us and I know he likes being there better. It’s still very sad and we will be spending almost all our time there with him.

  1. We’ve never met, but I read your blog everyday. I wish I had some profound words to share with you and BJ right now. But nothing I can come up with seems like the right thing. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts right now. Take Care.

  2. I know this is hard for you, but remember how rich you and your family have made the last year in his life. He is so lucky to have had the wonderful care you have given him, and so much better than being alone like he was before. Stay strong, and take good care of you.

  3. Hi,
I read your blog as I was getting info on Hospice. I too am awaiting my grandfather to pass away. He is now home as well with hospice helping us. Its so difficult to see him. Sometimes I think he knows what is happening or wonder if we made the right choice to not have pancrease surgery as he is 89, but this seems like a long, slow difficult process as well. God Bless you and your family and all the people who were fortunate like us and those not to have have wonderful grandparents in their lives.

  7. Im keeping you all in my thoughts. I know how difficult it can be watching someone you love be in pain and not be able to help them – my father passed away from kidney failure three weeks ago. Hospice was a blessing, albeit late, but the support they are providing for our family now is extremely helpful. Be well, and I wish you peace. -c.

  10. I agree with LeAnn. You two have brought so much light to his life. None of us ever knows when our time is really up, but I have to say that I hope when mine is, I can say I spent the last of it with the kind of love and laughter you have given him in this time. Hugs to both of you (and baby!)

    Amber,
So sorry to hear about Grandpa. How well I remember the hospital time with my Mom and then 2 years later with my Dad as their bodies slowly shut down. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done so I totally understand your sadness right now. Be proud though, because you have been a wonderful bright spot in BJ’s Grandpas life this past year. You’re in my thoughts…
