Scrapbooking is totally crafting for me. I don’t know who is going to want my scrapbooks down the road, but I know I love looking at them, a lot. I love all the memories, all of the details and the fun products. Just the chance to get crafty is so fun. From the tiny bit of snow we had last year. Love this photo so I printed it big. While I was going through all those photos and organizing my storage binders I became obsessed with scrapbooking 2008. It was just a year of so much change, and excitement. The remodel, the pregnancy, grandpa, travels. I feel like I’m on the verge of forgetting it all. Of course 2008 was also the year of Sciarrino doing a ton of stuff for me, like sewing all these cloth wipes. I certainly want to remember the craziness of thinking I’d need 300 wipes! Thank goodness I didn’t 🙂 And the excitement of getting all the wee diapers…

Actually when I first started scrapbooking I didn’t scraplift (copy the design or elements of an existing layout) at all. I just did whatever. Now that I have my own loose style I find it easier to look at other people’s work for inspiration and not loose my style in theirs. I pulled out my old Ali book A Designer’s Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterned Paper and picked out a couple of layouts to lift to get myself into the groove the other day.
