  • Just a heads up for those of you who don't get my newsletter.

    New ribbon-1

I'm having a big sale over at the Ribbon Jar from now until Monday, November 30th. From now until Monday, November 30th, not only are we offering FREE SHIPPING on orders over $50 (domestic only, and yes this includes our heavy jars – use coupon code 50free), but we have many other specials as well. All of our favorites are on sale: Double Faced Satin 20% off, Ric-Rac 20%, Organdy 20%,Herringbone/Twill 20%, Velvet 10%, and Silk 15% – no coupons needed. But that's not all. Spend $75 and get an additional 10% off your whole order. Use coupon code gobble.

Okay I totally cut and pasted that from my newsletter (and took the picture from my mom, mmm I love that new crushed velvet). I am super tired today, because I stayed up late working on it, but also because our fire alarm (which is now hard wired, so it goes off in three places) went off at 3:30 in the morning, and we have no idea why. Like Bj said, "Maybe the sleep gods are against us."

  • Or “What we are doing at 1:27 AM” Everything is making her crazy giggly happy excited. I’m just trying not to fall asleep.

(I think this says, "I've got them right where I want them.")

I pulled a mama card today and handed over all feast making duties to Bj. This turned out to be a wonderful idea since Tuesday did not want to rest at all and wanted lots of mama cuddles and turns out Bj can cook a great Thanksgiving dinner!

I wanted to do something at the beginning of the meal that we could hold on to – a new tradition. So I came up with an idea for everyone to write their thanks on scraps of paper along with their name and the year so we can have a nice big jar of things we're thankful for (I think I saw something like this at one time off in blog land but can't remember where). Since Bj had the honor of cooking, he also had the honor of blending:

Mmm turkey, mashed potato and a little milky.

She loved the cranberry sauce (my mom blogged about the super easy recipe here) and stuffing the most I think.

    -13

"Guys this drumstick is too big for my two tiny teeth!" We tried to get her to hold that up, it was way too heavy, but pretty funny to try!

Before dinner though we went out to the porch and took some pictures with our guests:

    -4

    Grandpa and Grandma

    -5

    Nana and Pops

    -6

Uncle Brent and Auntie Kat (who was the behind the scenes attention getter for the rest of the shots).

    -8

    All the ladies!

    -7

Uncle Taylor. She was loving uncle Taylor today:

    -10

Taylor started college this year, doesn't he just look like a college guy now? I think he does.

    -15

Mmm that was some good times.

Obviously I'm making up for her 2 pictures on the forth of July, missing Easter shots, and a very unfilled baby book 🙂 Hope your day was as wonderful!
