Yes that is a dictionary. Did you know that I collect dictionaries? Because I do baby, I do. It all started in the eighth grade with Greek and Latin root words. Ms. Mester I blame you! (but in a good way). Okay so here’s the thing. My grandma has been cleaning out this hermits house for a while and he had piles of stuff. Like he even saved his hair, weird much? But he also saved some cool things, like this rockin dictionary (the pride of my collection). So Brent and my mom went to Portland today and they have all this smelly old stuff and then Brent whips out this puppy. 7 inches high, by 9 inches wide and over 12 inches tall of pure literary goodness. And I’m like all squealy (if you know me you know what this is like). Those of you who don’t know me, it’s like a kinda whinny puppy dog breathy sound with words (so I’ve been told – it sounds like normal to me, but then I think I have a low voice, so…). So I’m dancing around the dictionary. Being all happy and then I’m like, “it’s for me right? youknowcauseIcollectdicionariesandhavetohaveit?” and Brent’s like, “what, no, I’m keeping it, I found it.” This flew me into a sort of rage. “NO WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH IT? YOU’LL NEVER USE IT, I’M IN LOVE WITH IT OVER HERE.” Brent and mom were lost in galls of laughter, that was so NOT funny to me. So finally despite my whining no one gives in (hate that) so I storm upstairs to work in my wasp infested area (really only one wasp, but I need this to sound desperate). Brent walks up with the dictionary and puts it on the table in front of me. “Mom and I had a bet to see what you would do when you saw this thing. You exceeded our expectations.” What this is a joke? He starts {doing me} waving his hands around, high pitched voice: “you guys I HAVE to have it. I collect dictionaries.” And him and mom start laughing again. So mean. But really nice for actually getting me the dictionary. The second edition Webster’s from 1934. I love it. Do I love you dictionary? Yes I do:
