  • Totally scrapbook related so if you have no interest in that kind of thing, just skip it.

Ok, I usually don’t get into stuff like this, people can buy what they want to buy. But in my opinion buying this:

is so so not what I would do. I’m going to let you in on a secret. This is almost the exact same thing as a Speedball Linocutter. Which are cheap. This Basic Grey tool (side note I totally love and want absolutely everything else that they make) retails for 26.99 at the one place I could find a price (but they are sold out). Listen to me people if you want one of those get this:
    40203100913ww

Now I have never actually used THIS one (with 10 tips for 9.99), but hey these things are meant for linoleum so they will truck their way through paper no problem.

All these links are from Dick Blick art materials. I’ve ordered from them a bunch (way too much) and they are great. If you still want the Basic Grey tool that’s okay I’ll still love you!  But I just thought I would throw this out there. You can thank me by spending the money you saved at Ribbon Jar. Hehehehe.

  • My step-dad Bill helped me check some things off my to do list yesterday that had been on there for a while. A new ribbon rack and this cool thing got put up.

Can you believe this wire basket was headed to Goodwill (Bill!), luckily my mom and I rescued it, she spray painted it black (the best way to fix anything I tell ya) and he helped me hang it. See that super wide grosgrain, the orange and yellow one?  That is like one of my most fav ribbons EVER and no one has ordered it. I don’t get it. I just don’t. Sorry little rant. Any way. So after the new racks went up I changed everything to rainbow order instead of size.

I so love it this way. It’s more how I think anyway, so I think it will make me pull orders even quicker (even though you know I’m already super fly).

    Other stuff:
-I put two new things up on eBay, a Halloween by the years album (someone asked me to do another one and I can’t find your email, so if this is you go look!) and a girly girl lunch pail. I really wish I would have gotten more lunch pails when I was in so cal. There were so many at their Micheal’s that they were dusty.
-Depeche Mode’s new album came out today. You have to check out this song: Precious (yes it’s from a Smallville episode. God I am just so addicted to that show. You’re hot Tom Welling, hot).
-I lost a pound! Go ballet class go! Oh and walking with my parent’s probably helped too.
    -Tom Welling is hot! Proof:
    Tom
If I saw Tom in real life I would probably faint. And then he would lean over to make sure I was okay and then I would rip off his shirt to feel his abs!
Edited to add: my mom thinks he looks like, well I can’t even say, but horrible basically and my brother thinks he looks like he’s on drugs. Someone back me up on his hotness here! Anyone?

  • Okay so I was perusing my normal round of blogs and came across a challenge on Donna Downey’s. I figured it was the perfect thing to get me moving today since I was kind of thinking aimlessly about scrapbooking with out much direction. It was to make a layout inspired by linear curves. Here’s my take:
    Talktime
It was kind of rough to put together and I used an apparently toxic combination of diamond glaze, undo, stayzon ink, and paint pens because my craft area smells like butt. But I like it. I did go a little text crazy. I think I should have used this in some kind of text challenge instead of linear curves, but I was trying to convey talking, so I hope this works. Besides the smelly stuff I used: Chatterbox fabric words, lots of mm rubons, and some black letter stickers (but I need a bigger E I think, any suggestions?), 7 gypsies layers, Technique Tuesday stamp, and of course Ribbon Jar ribbon (no, really? :>).

In other, and far cooler news, you MUST check out this link. I don’t think people click on all the cool links that I put in here but this is a must! Sciarrino sent it to me so I can’t take all the credit:
freaking awesome postage stamps! Ok was that totally awesome? I only LOVE postage stamps and save them for years so I’ll have the perfect one for a letter down the road (just ask Kaitlyn who got my five year old Screenwriting stamp after she got into a writing grad school program). This is like all my dreams coming true! Well not all, but a lot of them. I am so giving these as presents this year!!!

Oh and the journaling for the layout: "Remember in our novice 8 when I just talked to you? Now our conversations are almost unending. I love how we free flow from scrapbooking to Harry Potter to Tom Welling and his hotness (one thing we will never argue about). So move to Salem already these phone bills are getting a little out of hand!"
