Ok I have to admit to a little chill in the air, despite my reluctance to let summer go. Of course when this happens and more time is spent inside I start thinking about tweaking things here and there. My living room is the next on my list.
    Living room-5
It looks pretty good here with lots of light coming in. The rug is newish and we love it, it’s from Amy Butler updated: we’re having serious problems with this rug. I do not recommend it, we are still working with the company to get our issues resolved. I was waiting for the rug before figuring out the color for the table and other things, like curtains. I think I want to have the table painted that lighter blue color and do curtains in a similar shade, but I’m having trouble finding some dark enough blue that don’t look too heavy. I want them to be full length (the ones I have now were made with something I had on hand, hence the short size). Ideas? Thoughts?
To the right of this picture is the little phone cabinet:

I have the table moved into my craftroom right now so Tuesday and I can work on projects together. I think I’m going to leave it as is, but I need to clear coat it so it’s easier to clean.
I did already do one little thing:
    Living room-1
I re-did the nook above the fireplace to make a little art gallery.

When I was thrifting with the girls I said I thought a little collection of glass candlestick holders would be fun. They said I could find a whole collection in the one Goodwill we were at, and they were right.
Are you starting to turn the focus inside? Any little projects around the house you want to share?

    Photobooth2010-1
    1. I went to the fair and hit up the photobooth like I do every year (2003-2005, 2006, 2008, 2009).
    2. I chopped off my hair.
    3. I am with in 1 pound of my pre-pregnancy weight (124 lbs).
    4. I have been working out at least 4 times a week.
    5. I actually like it.
    6. I even worked out today, ON MY BIRTHDAY.
    7. I also ate more of my birthday pie so I made up for it.
    8. I haven’t had a diet coke in 24 days.
    9. I don’t miss it…
    10. much.
    11. I’m drinking this instead (diluted 1/2 with water) when I need something besides plain water.
    12. Last weekend Sciarrino helped me make a scrapbooking kit with my own stuff and I’ve been having a blast playing with it.
    13. I like Twitter more than Facebook.
    14. This resulted in a take no prisoners “friend” cut.
    15. I need to take more pictures
    16. and video.
    17. Especially of my ever-changing wonder named Tuesday Lee.
    18. I really want to sleep through the night again.
    19. But not more than I want to comfort Tuesday… ah motherhood.
    20. I’m so excited to be in my 30s.
    21. I feel more like me than I ever have before
    22. and I like me.
    23. I love that I’m watching less TV and don’t miss cable at all.
    24. Now the few things I watch seem even better and more special.
    25. I’m glad we don’t have pets… the dogs on the corner are so annoying.
    26. But fresh eggs from a chicken would be nice…
    27. Wait, when’s the last time I used an egg?
    28. I love summer, but a snuggly winter is calling my name.
    29. After staring at this screen for a while the whole room seems darker and I start thinking about new lights.
    30. Wow thirty is a lot.

Last night my wonderful husband threw me the best party of my life. I told him I wanted a backyard party with BBQ burritos and our friend’s band playing. The rest was up to him. He went crazy and almost all my friends came, it was brilliant.

Jettison Bend. Really it was just Brian going solo since his bandmates had commitments, but it was so great! His music is awesome, please clicky click on their link.
    Party-4
Looking back up at our house (reusing the garland from Tutu’s party). I guess since tomorrow is my birthday I can tell Bj that I really want french doors, ha (groan the house will never be done… :)!
    Party-5
I have been excited about my 30th birthday since I was nearly 8 and my mom turned 30. Of course what I remember and what really happened might not be lined up just right but in my eyes then nothing was cooler than the shindig my dad planned. A limo came to our house, but it was a funny limo with a sign that said my mom only looked “29 1/2”. I don’t even know where they went, but they didn’t come home until we were asleep and my mom was dressed all glamorous. I’ve told Bj that story lots of times so he triple checked that I didn’t want to go some where. I didn’t though because I love our yard and our friend’s music and thought this would be so fun.
    Party-6
But guess what? It was even more fun than that! Tuesday had a blast over at Donna’s house with William and his grandma and aunt. She stayed their for three hours until ten, when I brought her back to the party and then she stayed up until 11 saying hello to everyone.
    Party-7
What can I say about my lovely husband? He put up lights, and made food, and even squeezed 30 organic lemons and brewed lavender lemonade for his favorite non-drinker (me :). Sciarrino and Sarah helped too, making signs and picking up three of my favorite desserts (peanut butter pie from Big River in Corvallis) on the sly.
    Party-8
I felt like the luckiest girl last night, nothing could have been better. Tomorrow I’m 30 on the 30th!
