Tuesday is briefly letting me off the hook, I just laid her down (about 15 minutes ago so she should be ready to hang out again any second now… just kidding I've got Enya blasting). I have a sure fire way to get her to conk out, if ever so briefly: swaddle her, plop her in the Baby Hawk, run and up down the stairs a few times (both sets), grab any bit of laundry I can find to justify doing another load, and start some up downstairs. Then all I have to do is narrate what I'm doing, "ooh Tuesday these are papa's boxers, they have palm trees on them. These are mama's underwear, I'm still wearing my maternity underwear. Oh look this is Tuesday's, it's your little monkey socks." Eventually she listens to me and calms down. Bj's thing is this weird chugga-chugga-choo-choo dance he does with her (note to self: must get on camera). Every time he does it he says, "I swear this always works!" Usually we only have a couple times we need to get her to calm down but she's a bit off kilter today. Not her fault. Bj had a meeting in Seattle, and his flight left at seven. His alarm went off at 4ish and I had just finished feeding Tuesday so I said, "oh quick turn it off I don't want to wake her." But she started to squirm anyway. I asked him to go change her, and he said "sure." Then the three of us feel asleep again. He woke himself up at 5:30 and the airport is an about an hour away. He made it to the gate just as they were closing the doors, but made the next flight (it's a shuttle so it goes often) so no problem. But I was so worried thinking about him driving too fast to make the flight I never really settled back down and I think Tuesday picked up on it. I nursed her a couple more times but she never really got back to full sleep mode. Finally at nine she was like, "no more cuddling mom get up! We have a day to conquer!" So we did.

First up: trying to find a sweater for this button (OMG – switch that and reverse it, I guess I'm a little tired still today) so I can mark it as complete on Ravelry (I love doing that).

Nothing is working quite right. When I do get a button on here I'm going to make some notes on the pattern on Rav because I think the button hole side should be reversed, and have issues with the arm decreases a bit, mainly because I made them longer so I could cuff them, and that messed up where they landed.

Yesterday I finally put some handknit socks on her:

Looks like I waited a little too long, she is growing so fast! I have one of my favorite outfits on her today, and it is definitely the last time, I could barely snap the bodysuit. Time to go through more of V's stash of clothes, whoo hoo!

*side note: if anyone knows where to get teeny tiny tights could you let me know? I have some dresses for her, but can't seem to find any tights her size.

Now the totally ridiculous thing I knit her:
    020409-1

It's a mini baby scarf! Hehehe. I made five button holes on one side so that I can tighten or loosen it around her scrawny little adorable neck. See Bj likes to have her in the Baby Hawk for our walks and her neck always looks so exposed. I had a tiny little mini skein of handspun and whipped this up. It's so tiny:

(with Bj's hand for scale). It totally cracked us up, but she seems to like it, so I think it's doing the trick. I haven't cast on an actual project yet, I keep meaning too when she's "down" but I never seem to get the time. I guess I could do that instead of blogging, but then I'd never remember this stuff later!

  • Yesterday Tuesday did so great. My little bird, Bj and I went to my mom's to watch the Superbowl eat snacks and watch commercials. Bill, his mom and my step brother Taylor were also there so I had to take advantage of baby holding. It got a couple laughs but I brought the little sweater to block, because when else am I going to get to do it?
    Super-10

Hey she's going to be wearing her heart on her sleeve (look closely). Now a true Princess Sparkly Pants (Bj likes to call her this, among fifty other nicknames) must have a carriage:
    Super-1

Our family friend gave it to us to borrow for my mom to have at her house so Tuesday has something to nap in. It's metal and so awesome! Watch out because I foresee a zillion pictures in this thing (ohhh must take it out to the garden, must knit dress for future photos… the possibilities!). For now we just plopped her in it:
    Super-2

Ack the pants I knit her! Cuteness. All of that outfit is from one skein of Sundara Sock Yarn (more on sale tomorrow!) trimmed out with little bits of my handspun. I guess I didn't need to buy three skeins of pink sock yarn yesterday then… but I do have to start thinking ahead to when she is a bit bigger. And my mom has been doubling the strands of sock yarn with great (and quick) results, so I might have to try that too. Today she is equally cute in another handmade outfit:
    Super-8

Another onsie from the Aaron and Erin Etsy store… and just wait because I haven't put her in the robot one yet!

(Bj just came in to check on us – sissy is sleeping in her bassinet – and I turned down the Enya for a second and she started to squirm, silly baby. Okay, okay I'll turn it back up! I better make sure I have every song so I can get a nice rotation going).

    Super-9

Her eyes are changing again! The book I have says they can continue to change for six months! I'm obsessed with them, she is seriously killing me with her cuteness. Also killing me with cuteness:
    Super-4

Michele and V came to visit me today. Now if there is anything as cute as my daughter, it's my god-daughter. She has such a wonderful spirit, and is so gentle and lovely towards Tuesday (and is only two and a half!). She loves Bj (or Gee Bah as she calls him), and when Bj saw these pictures he was all, awe! I think the crush is mutual ๐Ÿ™‚

Now in these last moment of Tuesday's nap I should start some thank you notes, put the dishes in the dishwasher, or rotate the laundry… but I think I might seam this sweater and do a little yarn trading on Ravlery. Oh and I really need to cast on for something new. I need mindless knitting for nursing, but interesting enough that I don't fall asleep… ideas? I should probably knit from my stash, but then, that shouldn't be a problem ๐Ÿ™‚

We had a letter to drop off at the post office so we thought we do it in the middle of the night… oh and she would not stop crying! I'd like to say this worked, but as soon as we laid her down she started peeping again. Luckily she did sleep around three and then slept until after ten (minus feedings, which are getting quicker and easier. And she goes down right after them no problem). So I think her days and nights are just messed up. I don't think it's anything else. I'm trying something new today. I downloaded this app. called Baby Tracker: Nursing and so far I love it. I'm nursing her every two hours no matter what (you're sleeping? WAKE UP!). So we'll see how that goes (note: I am not giving the Princess Sparkly Pants formula or pumping, we've decided we like nursing :). Oh that's right she's taking little naps today:

We realized in the car last night this morning that Tuesday majorly hearts Enya. I just happen to have a gigantic Enya playlist (major phase of my college life). So we're getting little naps here and there. Also daily walks have been re-instated… no matter how cold! Luckily she owns lots of knitware… I'm doing a layout about that right now:

That's right I've been scrapbooking! I have my cute little muse and the wonderful super power many women posses called MULTITASKING, can you dig it? Here are two from last weekend when Papa was watching her:

I'm loving this mustard colored paper… maybe because it's the first I can see on the little pull out Bj made me:

I'm going to put up more pictures of the craft den on my flickr page, with notes, so check it out later today. Here's another shot for now, Bj just moved over a few more things for me last night (the stamp shelf and hooks):

I'm actually really loving the space. It's nice to have my work space completely separate from my computer desk. The view kinda sucks, grr… I like nursing here, and there is enough floor space to play with the little lady. My favorite Tuesday layout so far:

It goes without saying these are straight in real life right? Sciarrino do you recognize the stickers? She stamped them all the day of our wedding to make closures for our candy bar bags. I've found a bunch of random things like that going through all my stuff and moving it over. I'm also going through things I don't think I need any more, as soon as I get that together I'm going to do a giveaway Paula style.

Things I can't give away because I want to roll around in their soft goodness:
    013109-11

Sundara yarn… enough for a sweater (for me!). I am so tempted to get more of this silky goodness. OMG it is so soft! And my Hello Yarn club fiber came:

When am I going to spin again? I don't know but I'm pretty sure this is close enough to art to collect.

Tomorrow we're going to grandma and grandpa's for the superbowl. Word on the street is there is a vintage European pram for us to check out. Do I sense a photo op? Me thinks so! Hmm… what to dress her in, I might have to bring a couple options.
