  • On Friday I did my first non-family photo shoot (counting V as family of course). I was excited and a bit nervous as I hadn’t been to the house in years (they are a family friend) and I was curious if I could just go into a house I wasn’t familiar with and a baby I didn’t really know and get some good images with out scouting out the location. I was hoping to walk away with 25 images or so to put on a disc for B’s parent’s. I just finished going through and editing and I have 50 images that I love (a couple are multiples in black and white). Here are some of my favorites:

I think the whole outfit was from Target, at least I know the tights were, I asked because I thought they were so cute!

I just carried her around and plopped her here and there, so fun.

That’s without processing on those eyes, they are to die for no? Swoon I love them.

Here mom wanted some of her eating fishies, and I’m so glad because she made the funniest faces.

I created my own action in photoshop to make the watermark but I don’t know why it stretched itself out in horizontal photos. Boo, I’ll have to figure that out.

Mini fishies! And Violet also has this high chair. I’m not sure where it’s from but it is ten times better than those new plastic monstrosities they make now with like pastel fabric (barf). Although if you do have one, check out what Heather Bailey did to hers here. Now that’s an upgrade.

She can stand only with help, cute wobbly baby legs.

So honestly what do you think? I didn’t charge them, they hired me to do her birthday party in a couple of months so I wanted to get some experience in before I took money from anyone.  I don’t really know where I’m going photography wise, I love it and it’s always been a great hobby for me. As part of my studio art major I took traditional (black and white film) photography classes and found that to be a great creative outlet.  Um, and the playing with cute little kids thing? That is a definite plus!

  • Yesterday I had another craft day in the "lower level." It was so fun having people pop in and out from 9-9. Sciarrino brought muffins to start off the day, then Sarah joined us with a couple of her friends from Corvallis, one of them it turned out Sciarrino and I knew from crew (small world). Tex popped in, as did my mom, my neighbor Tracy, her daughter, then her daughter’s friends, and a new friend of mine who works with my brother. So much fun!

I guess I also pieced another quilt top and bottom, but when you see how easy that is you won’t be thinking I’m so very fabulous. I did have fun tying the tree skirt around myself and making Sciarrino laugh by plopping myself on the floor, raising my arms and making like a tree. I think you had to be there, I was so tired and not quite thinking correctly.

Anyway see up there how I have my hair cut? And I have it tucked behind my ears? Well Bj loves it when I don’t do the ear tucking thing, like blow dry it and let it be next to my face, the only thing is it goes in front of my face, like in my eyes all day. If you have my length hair how do you wear it not tucked behind your ears? I’ve seen tons of people do this, but my left eye just ends up covered all day long or I find myself shaking my hair back like I’ve got a rare seizure (I couldn’t think of that word so I had to just go lay on the floor pretending to have one and ask Bj what that’s called, LOL) disorder. So ya, ideas? Products?

  • There has been lots of Christmas crafting going on over here, and much that I can’t show. But after spending days stitching binding a quilt I had to brag about it a little. So I had Bj curl up with the project to give you a little taste:

Mmmm yummy right? I want to keep it. Sciarrino asked me last night if I ever get gifts and then keep them for myself. Well I try not to, but somethings this year I really, really want to keep! But I won’t have time to craft for myself as some how there is only 10 days left to Christmas and I have no less than 8 handmade projects to finish. Oh my!
