Oh I’m just a cute little baby…

LA LA LA I like to talk!

I’m such a happy girl.

HI INTERNET!!!
These are actually 3 months + 1 day, because 3 months ended like this:

Beware the big sister monster!
(side note: We are having issues with our heaters upstairs – thousands of ants invaded the outdoor component, YUCK – and the guy had to climb over piles of stuff all over our rooms, it’s chaos!)

3 months + 1 day they got along better. Though I’m not so happy that Tuesday told Bennet about all her no napping tricks. 30 minute naps are not my favorite. Oh and I’d take a bedtime before midnight. Or maybe more than three hours of sleep at a time. Le sigh. But it goes by so fast I shouldn’t complain at all. Let’s just hope I don’t fall asleep while bouncing Bennet on the exercise ball one night…. a real possibility.

It’s Kids Clothes Week Challenge this week and even though I have managed to sew for an hour every day I don’t have one finished thing to show for it! My mom however has been kicking butt.

She made Bennet these upcycled pants from an old sweater. I lanolized them and am using them as longies. So soft, love, love, love. Yesterday she came over with a jacket made from another sweater and today a purse for Tuesday that she is so in love with.

Seriously how cute is that!?! Tuesday has been begging me for an over the shoulder purse for a while and grandma came through with the win! It even has a purple zipper, so many favorite colors all on one purse. My mom and Tuesday hung out today and she kept texting me pictures. Tuesday had the purse slung over her in each one. And after my mom dropped her off she ran back to give her a goodbye hug and said, “Thank you for my purse Grandma, I love it!” Aww, that kid knows how to keep hand crafts coming her way!
I’m hosting two baby showers this month, plus trying to get some regular home schooling in for Tuesday. Things start to come together and then we have fussy days and they fall apart again! But hopefully I’ll be able to share more projects soon. -

Oh man, I love making these simple quilts. This one was for my little friend Madeline on her first birthday.

This was the first one I made, based off this one from a flickr user. I contacted her and told her I was making the quilts, and she was so sweet. I asked if she minded if I sold them and she said no. So Sciarrino and I are signed up for a craft fair! I’m so excited about it. Mark your calendars if you are in the area and come see Sciarrino and I at the Town and Country Christmas Bazaar in Albany November 30th, December 1st and 2nd! I’ll have some of these quilts as well as lots of other goodies, more on that to come. But back to the quilts.

I originally pieced up a bunch of these tops because I was looking for something quick to cut out that I could take into the sewing machine shop to try out my machine with. The long strips were perfect to show where my machine was getting hiccups. Of course then I didn’t want to quilt them because of said machine. But now that I have my “new” Bernina I can quilt these no problem!

Simple lines, love it.

I used a variety of solid fabrics, mostly Kona, but some Cotton Couture thrown in that gives the quilts a wonderful variety of textures.

I wonder if my friend Nora remembers this fabric from a visit years ago. I got it while thrifting with her at an antique mall (I think it was an antique mall). It was too perfect for this back!
I have six more of these tops pieced already and ideas for many more.
